The Foyer is a unique development in Plymouth, designed to help young people gain their independence through the provision of accommodation and training at a single site. ADG were commissioned by Devon & Cornwall Housing Association to refurbish and extend an existing 19th Century warehouse building in the Stonehouse area of Plymouth. The facilities within the development are open to both residents and the local community and include an IT suite, conference and training rooms, cafe and creche, along with 17 three person self-contained flats and 2 disabled flats. The Foyer has been a great success since it opened in January 2000 and ADG have since been asked to look at a further two Foyers in the South West. Abercrombie Design Award: Best Refurbishment. |
