The project design team worked closely with the urban design planners, local community representatives and RDA to achieve a wide range of objectives Designated as a ‘Childrens Centre’ it is a local focus for development and training, working with other services and providers to innovate, provide peer support and share expertise to disseminate good practice. The design process involved working closely with a client group to meet the specific requirements and aspirations for the centre, particularly with the nursery space. The general nursery occupies the ground floor where the nursery spaces link through to external play areas providing a stimulating and safe environment whereas the upper floor provides for the wider community services and activity spaces. |
