Callington Road

Our Clients approached us to assist in the development of ideas and options for the renovation and extension of their recently purchased, 1930’s home in Saltash. The property occupies an elevated location within an extensive plot with views across the Tamar Valley. Their brief was to demolish an existing conservatory and replace it with a 2 storey extension containing dining space on the ground floor, and master bedroom with ensuite on the first floor.

The proposals created the opportunity to extensively rationalise the internal spaces as well as creating a larger ground floor, with additional utility and shower room. The approach taken was to create a design that directly related to the original house, rationalising the roof layout and visually connecting new and original fabric. A key element of this was the rethinking of the glazed openings to create a unified appearance to the windows and their proportions.

Similarly a new porch was proposed in a style appropriate to the age of the house. We went on to provide the planning drawings and submit their householder application on their behalf. Planning approval has since been granted with the works due to start in the summer of 2018.

Client Quotation: “Thanks very much for your and your team’s work. We were Impressed by the speed with which you got us through planning, as well as leading us through the design phase. Your help was invaluable in turning our vague ideas into something functional and in-keeping.”
