Back to the Architect Part III...

Having, finally, found both the will and time to progress his professional education to its conclusion, last year over 10 months between January and November, Dale successfully completed his RIBA Part III., allowing him to legally hold the title of ‘Architect’.

Having previously completed his Part II at Oxford Brookes University, Dale chose to return there last year, attending various seminar days and exams. Unfortunately Plymouth University no longer support this course, forcing candidates to travel much further afield.

"Although last year was a bit of a slog it was made much easier with the support and understanding of ADG and my family, so my thanks goes to them."

Internal Fly-through for New STEM Building...

ADG are pleased to announce the completion of the new internal STEM Building fly-through for City College Plymouth.

The fly-through has been developed in-house using several 3D modelling packages in order to gain a realistic, dynamic movie that ADG were able to hand over to the college.

Beauchamp Road is granted planning permission...

ADG has achieved detailed planning approval for a residential infill scheme on a vacant site in Peverell, Plymouth. The project consists of two number semi-detached three bedroom family dwellings with accommodation arranged over three storeys.

The building design has been developed with careful consideration to the location and the varied nature, in terms of scale, materials and age of the surrounding existing buildings. Boundary treatment will include amendments to the existing stone walls and the provision of new metal railings to enhance the street scene.

Elevations have been developed to have a contemporary appearance using a limited palette of materials that have been chosen for their longevity and natural appearance. The composition of the elevational design is carefully considered to respond to the building massing. The proposed self-finished weatherboard cladding panels assist with this and provide visual interest and contrast on this prominent corner site.

The scheme will form an important part of the continuing development of this popular residential area making use of a site that has been disused for a number of years.

Mount Wise Phase 3 continues to move forward...

The next phase at Mount Wise is well underway with work reaching first floor height. The new phase will contain a total of 59 apartments ranging from 1 to 4 bed over a total height of 6 storeys.

The finished phase will have incredible panoramic views across to Mount Edgcumbe and will enclose the site from the eastern edge of the development. The finished phase will be ready in early 2017 with units being sold already off plan.

The Mount Wise, "Village By The Sea", development is now in it's fifth year of construction and ADG are pleased to have been lead architects through-out the design, planning and construction stages, with the addition of two more phases to be built. The end scheme will be a transformation of it's once derelict appearance.

Anne's on top of the world... well nearly

Our PA, Anne Marshall wondered what she could possibly do to follow her successful 3 peak challenge last June, and came up with trekking to Everest Base Camp! This amazing adventure took place last November/December. Although Nepal is still struggling with the aftermath of the earthquake last April, trekking and tourism in Nepal is welcomed and is one of the best ways to help them get back on their feet.

Three weeks of beautiful blue skies, breathtaking scenery, warm days, extremely cold nights, challenging walking and finally – 5,364m Everest Base Camp, as high as you can go without actually climbing the mountain itself.

“To experience such an historical place where so many famous expeditions had started from was fantastic, emotional and something never to be forgotten”.
