Meet the team…
Patrick Deigan, Director
Patrick joined ADG as a Senior Architect in 2005 and became a Director of the practice in 2018. Born in Cornwall, Patrick moved to London to study architecture and worked there for several years before returning to the South West. Patrick leads the housing team at ADG and maintains a close involvement with the design process and project development in the delivery of a wide range of housing schemes. He also works on leisure and healthcare schemes and has developed skills in mixed-use and regeneration projects including single buildings and larger developments involving collaboration with multiple stakeholders. Patrick lives in Plymouth and enjoys walking and tai chi.
Dale Beeson, Director
Dale joined nearly 20 years ago having gained a background in both architecture and engineering at Cardiff University. His experience spans a wide range of project sectors, sizes and stages. Dale has particular interests in environmental design and earth-sheltered construction, and he was key to the delivery of the sustainable holiday project ‘The Village’ for the Watergate Bay Hotel. His favourite projects reuse and breathe new life into under-loved existing buildings. Dale lives in a village on the edge of Exeter with his wife and 2 young children, where he enjoys running and cycling and anything creative.
Teresa Eastham, Finance & HR Assoc.
Teresa joined the ADG team over 20 years ago, after her son Henry was born. After working in accountancy prior to this, both in practice and in industry. Teresa was challenged to work with the Directors of ADG and try and keep them interested in finance and project management whilst not letting their eyes glaze over, switch off and draw pretty pictures which she knows they would prefer to do! Both things very vital to a company and a task that Teresa relishes alongside the general running of the practice. Outside of ADG Teresa is the Treasurer of Plymouth Theatre Company who own the Devonport Playhouse and she can often be seen at the Playhouse either volunteering in the theatre or on stage alongside her husband Simon. Theatre is a passion for Teresa, and she is delighted that her daughter Alice loves it too and is at University studying Musical Theatre.
Jon Inman, Senior Architect
With nearly 20 years of experience in the profession, Jon joined the practice in 2014, having previously worked for other well established and award-winning Plymouth based practices. Jon has previously worked at Director level and on joining ADG in a Senior Architect role, he has brought considerable experience in both the Strategic and day to day Operational management of a range of projects. In addition to new build projects, he also has particular knowledge of, and a passion for, the re-use and re-modelling of existing buildings. Jon has specific experience and skills as an effective communicator within a multi-disciplinary team ethos. Jon lives in Plymouth with his wife and three children and has an active interest in classic cars, furniture design and making, the local sports scene and fresh air.
Dan Stewart, Senior Architect
Dan qualified as an Architect in 2013, and has worked as a Project Architect designing, detailing and project managing luxury one-off private houses throughout Devon and Cornwall. Prior to working in the luxury housing sector, he worked in London on large scale residential and mixed-use developments. He comes to ADG having worked in other renowned local practices on projects such as the RIBA Award Winning ‘Stairway to Devon’ at Royal William Yard, Plymouth. Dan has a passion for the conservation and re-use of existing buildings, enjoys creative design solutions on challenging sites, and researching and implementing renewable technology and low-energy design. Dan lives with his wife in Plymouth in their newly self-renovated house. He enjoys real ale, exploring the moor and walks along the coast path.
Pete Curno, Senior Technologist
Pete is one of the longest serving employees at ADG having joined the practice soon after its inception in 1988. Born and educated in Plymouth, Pete started his career in architecture in 1980 and soon developed an interest in IT systems. This led onto the introduction of ADG’s first CAD system in 1992 and more recently the Building Information Modelling (BIM) CAD system. Pete has worked mainly in the ‘design and build’ arena, working very closely with contractor led developments on large scale commercial, industrial & residential projects. Pete’s longstanding interest in photography has led to several architectural photography awards & commissions and has helped to define & illustrate ADG’s project portfolio. When not using his camera, Pete likes to spend his spare time cycling with wife Sandra and enjoying family moments with his 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
Steve Walrond, Architect
Steve has been working with ADG since 2013 and qualified as an architect in 2015. During his time at ADG he has developed a depth of experience working on commercial projects within education, residential and healthcare sectors. As part of his role Steve is also part of the QA team at ADG ensuring continuous improvement of the services that we provide. Steve has an interest in sustainability and low energy building design and particularly enjoys working collaboratively with clients to design beautiful and healthy buildings built to the highest technical and spatial standards. Steve enjoys living by the sea with his wife Louise, and their two children where he surfs and cycles in his spare time.
Ruth Dreyer, Architect
Ruth joined the team in 2017 having previously gaining valuable experience working as a qualified Architect for a large architectural practice on a variety of projects and work stages. She has specialist skills in dealing with sensitive conservation projects and a breadth of knowledge across project sectors, as well as particular interests in sustainable and healthy building design solutions. Ruth lives in Plymouth and has two young children. She enjoys spending time introducing them to the merits of good design, sustainable living and the world of art. She has also been helping a local community interest group to realise their own dreams in setting up a base in Plymouth.
Darren Jenner, Architect
Darren was born in Sussex and moved to Plymouth in 1994 to study architecture, he joined ADG in 2001 and became a fully qualified architect in 2003. During his time with the business he has developed a wealth of experience across projects of varying sizes and work stages, particularly within residential, education and healthcare sectors and is a key member the housing team. Darren has been involved in the design and delivery of several award-winning projects during his time with the business. As part of his role Darren organises regular in-house CPD events for the business. Darren lives in Plymouth with his partner Felicity, they are both keen runners but also enjoy spending their spare time cycling, travelling and exploring the local countryside. Darren is also an ardent football fan and is a season ticket holder at Plymouth Argyle.
David Applebee, Architect
Having worked in Plymouth, London and Hamburg leading large mixed use and small scale schemes, David has helped both clients and the design team through gaining confidents in their Building Information Modeling (BIM) understanding. With Over ten years’ experience at the forefront of BIM he is keen to see its full integration into the design process, enhancing both early concept design to delivery and beyond. David enjoys living in his hometown with wife and son, and spends as much time outside as possible climbing, hiking and cycling.
Rory Stoddart, Technician
Rory originally joined ADG in 2006, building his construction knowledge inhouse whilst simultaneously completing his Higher Nation Certificate in Construction at City College Plymouth. Rory has a strong interest in the detailed design stages of projects and has gained experience in various key project sectors. Building upon this experience, from 2014-2017 Rory decided to take some time out of the office in order to gain valuable on-site skills and knowledge constructing timber framed housing. Since then, in his own time, Rory has developed a passion for current and future technology and also enjoys taking long scenic walks with his son, partner and dog.
Rob Habbeshaw, Technician
Rob has recently joined ADG, with a mixed background in construction, starting off in the surveying world and leading into site engineering. He has worked on large civils project within the Plymouth area, including Hemmerdon Tungsten mine, the Energy from Waste Power station at Camels Head and the Plymstock Quarry remediation project. Later moving to an architectural practice Rob quickly became comfortable using Revit and now has good experience in commercial and domestic swimming pools, and apartments. He also produces architectural visualisations of schemes for clients. Rob lives in Cornwall with his partner Beth, and enjoys football, cricket and always has time for a Guinness.
George Clarke, Junior Technician
George joined the ADG team in 2018 after a years travelling with his partner. George initially graduated in Architectural Technology and Design at the University of the West of England, but has since moved back to Plymouth to begin work as an Architectural Technologist. Whilst at ADG, George has worked towards various projects in both the private and commercial sector gaining experience in both design and construction. In his spare time George plays rugby and football, with the occasional pint after games on the weekend.
Dina Vinuti, Pt 2 Graduate
Dina joined the team in summer 2016 as a Part 1 after graduating from Plymouth University. She enjoys being part of a team as she has the opportunity to take on projects and learn about every design stage from the initial concept to completion. She has worked on both new build and historic projects. Dina loves travelling as it is basically part of her life as she has kept friendships and loved ones in the countries, she has lived in including Kuwait. Also, she enjoys being in the sea, from paddle boarding to coasteering with her partner as much as she enjoys having nights in, crafting and watching films.
Chris Band, Graphic Designer
Chris joined the ADG team in 2004 after finishing his degree in Graphic Design at the University of Gloucestershire. Chris can create bespoke branding, wayfinding, wallpaper murals and internal and external graphic applications. Chris’ particular interest is around how colour and typography can affect the appearance of graphic design. Chris was born in Leicestershire but at a young age moved to the South West with his family where he now lives in Plymouth. Chris is married to Natalie and has two beautiful daughters, biased of course, and is a keen gym goer and cyclist, both on and off the road, and loves living by the coast.
Julie Nash, Admin & Finance
Julie has been supporting the Technical staff at ADG since 2005 as part of the administration and finance team. Starting her working life with Hampshire County Council’s Treasury Department, she has worked in a range of administrative and client facing roles and as well as raising her three daughters. Her empathy for those in crisis and has led to her involvement in a number of local charities, including Pregnancy Crisis Care where she currently volunteers as a counselling practitioner. Favourite things are hanging out with her (very cute) grandchildren, holidaying in Crete with her husband Marc and playing scrabble!
Anne Marshall, Admin & PA
Anne joined ADG 11 years ago as PA to the Managing Director, Ian Potts, before eventually becoming the PA to all Directors. With a marketing background and qualifications, she has worked for Plymouth City Council, Plymouth Gin and the Chamber of Commerce since moving from Nottingham to Plymouth a number of years ago when she married a sailor! As well as still being the PA, she is also our planning assistant and gets involved with business development and networking. Anne is a keen runner taking part in marathons and ultra-marathons and also enjoys walking, swimming and travelling, and is very involved with Woodside Animal Welfare Trust.
